Lead me to the {ROCK}

Preparing for my Women's Revelation Growth Group has been overwhelming at times. I know that each woman God placed in my group with Armendia has been brought to us for a specific purpose; God has brought them to this place...and my prayer is, "God, lead us to the rock."

"What should I do before our first meeting?"

If you are reading my post and are in my Revelation group, here is a quick list of a few things you can do before we get started on Thursday, September 3rd @ 6:30PM:

1) Invite someone! I know this one is easier said than done, but I encourage you to take time over the next two weeks and invite someone to join us. Pray for the opportunity to invite. You don't have to be a member of Venture to participate in growth groups. It's even okay for you to invite someone who has never been to a service here-- it may be just what they need to link into a church family for the first time. Like Byron would say, there's power in an invitation. Be bold and invite!

2) Pray for each other! Colossians 1:9-10 says, "9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God."

I encourage each of you to lift each other up in prayer. Pray that God would protect our Thursdays so we are healthy and able to come to growth group each week. Please lift up Armendia and myself that the Spirit would work through us so we can be who we need to be for you each week. Pray for unity and that joy would be ever present in our group. Know you are being prayed for so hard and that we know it was not coincidence that God has placed each of you in our group. I am so excited about what God has in store for us each week!

3) Get in the Word! Contrary to popluar belief you don't have to read all of Revelation by September 3rd!

But I do encouarge you to do a little digging. Just like we all have a story, so does each Book of the Bible! Take some time between now and then to look into the who, why, and how of Revelation. Who wrote this Book? Who was it written to? Where was it written? Sometimes learning about the Book before you dive into it helps bring new things into light. A good place to look is in your Bible. Most Bibles have a section before the Book about the Book. My Bible has a little section in the back that shares a bit about each Book of the Bible. If you are able, I also encourage you to read chapter one of Revelation before we meet.

I know that it will be on Christ's rock that we will be able to truly lead these women to know, love, and follow Jesus. On anything else, I will fall. On Christ's rock, there's no storm that can stop us.
